Saprea

Saprea liberates individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, funded by a combination of public and private donations. Our offices are located in Lehi, Utah.

In a conversation with his wife, Shelaine, Derek Maxfield lamented that someone should “do something” to help adult female survivors of child sexual abuse find hope and healing. He recognized that when you give someone hope and resources, they become the steward of their own healing. Together in 2014, the Maxfield family founded Saprea to fight child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts through healing and prevention services.

What We Do
We empower healing for adults who were sexually abused as children or adolescents through retreats, workshops, support groups, and online resources.
We engage parents and caregivers to protect children and adolescents from sexual abuse through community education and online resources.
We drive awareness to motivate individuals and our partners to take action against child sexual abuse.
